Paper Description
This paper provides opportunities for students to engage with the wider community in a work-related paper or applied project-setting that is relevant to the fields of Human Development, Education and Society or Digital Learning.
Paper Structure
This paper is a block course that has some face-to-face, online and work placement components. The course commences on Friday 9th July and ends on 15th October 2020. Students are expected to attend three face-to-face sessions on campus and maintain regular attendance at their work placement (a total of 90 hours over the duration of the course, approximately one day per week for 12 weeks). Students are also expected to maintain a regular online presence in the Moodle learning space.

The internal assessment/exam ratio (as stated in the University Calendar) is 100:0. There is no final exam.

Students are expected to use Moodle throughout the paper to complete online career development modules.

You will find interactive learning material for Writing & Learning, Grammar & Language etc. Advice is available on time management, avoidance of plagiarism, coherence and cohesion in writing, maths support, structured writing etc.

Workload
This is a 15-point paper so you should be prepared to spend approximately 150 hours on the work required for this paper during the semester. 90 hours will be allocated to work experience, and the remainder should be spent preparing for the on-campus session, and completing the online career development modules. The remaining time should be spent completing assessments.

Students must be enrolled in a Digital Learning, Education and Society or Human Development major, and have completed 240 points towards the relevant qualification.
